Wikibon Helps Storage Customers Qualify for Energy Incentives

Wikibon is pleased to announce that it has embarked on an initiative to assist customers in obtaining incentive rebates from energy companies. The Wikibon community began researching energy incentives in early 2007 and observed that PG&E in California had an inventive program to provide energy incentives to its IT customers that installed qualified equipment. The community was disappointed to discover however, that as of March 2008, no customer had received an incentive check from PG&E for installing qualified storage equipment.

Upon further investigation, Wikibon discovered that only one storage supplier, Copan, was qualified for the PG&E program. As a result, Wikibon initiated the Storage Power Initiative, a program to educate suppliers and customers and advocate the qualification of storage equipment at PG&E and other utilities nationwide. Further, Wikibon will provide support for customers of such qualifying equipment to assist them in the incentive application process, to ensure protocols are followed according to PG&E guidelines.

Wikibon is piloting the program with a number of storage suppliers and their customers and will announce further details shortly. Customers and suppliers that would like more information on the program should email david DOT butler AT wikibon DOT org.
